In 2018, voters in Maryland approved an amendment to the state constitution to protect the revenues of state video lottery terminals for educational purposes.
As outlined in the bill and ballot question, the additional funding must total at least $ 125 million in fiscal 2020, $ 250 million in fiscal 2021, and $ 375 million in fiscal year 2020. of fiscal year 2022. 100% of the game’s revenue spent on public education must be additional funds in each year thereafter.
