93, Johnstown, formerly of Scalp Level, died April 29, 2022 at Laurelwood Care Center. Born December 22, 1928 in Punxsutawney, son of the late Henry Sr. and Eva (Laverio) Landeros. Predeceased by his first wife, Christine (Stoyka) Landeros; second wife, Kathryn “Kitty” (Moreland, Thompson, Boyd) Landeros; daughter-in-law, Barbara (Thompson) Domonkos-Bodnar; sister, Esther (Landeros) Bennett; and his brother, Henry Landeros Jr. He is survived by his nephews and nieces, Marion (Landeros) Carthew; Henry Landeros; Richard Landeros; Lori (Landeros) Huska and Elayne (Bennett) Bruckman; stepchildren, Patricia (Thompson) Montag; Brenda (Thompson) Kuzmiak; Jeffrey Boyd; and Holly (Boyd) Powell; as well as many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren. Ernest was a former chef at the Fort Stanwix Hotel; instrumental in opening the Holiday Inn in downtown Johnstown as Executive Chef. He was a member of the American Hotel Association. Former owner of Tipple Bar and Restaurant, Scalp Level for 34 years, where he was well known for his fish fry and porkette sandwiches. He loved his loyal customers. Ernie was a proud WWII Navy veteran as a medium patrol bomber aircrew and was a member of the Windber American Legion. Raise a shot glass of Old Grand Dad and sing along with Ern. “I did it, I did it my way.” At Ernie’s request, there will be no visitation or service, cremation arrangements entrusted to Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Windber. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the West End Improvement Group Fund, c/o Community Foundation for the Alleghenies, 216 Franklin St. Suite 400 Johnstown, PA 15901.
