Financial support for businesses in Northern Ireland to promote overseas tourism
The International Market Access Program will provide financial assistance to local tourism providers to resume overseas sales activities in core markets, reconnect with buyers, generate valuable business opportunities and promote tourism. Northern Ireland as a world class tourist destination for group recreation, golf, luxury and shopping events.
Funding of up to £ 6,500 per applicant is available with the aim of providing local industry with tangible support to re-engage with international buyers, secure contracts for years to come and stand out in a global market increasingly competitive against a range of high-level competitors. .
The program will operate on a pilot basis until March 31, 2022.
Tourism NI’s head of business solutions, Eimear Callaghan, said: “Global group businesses for leisure, luxury, golf and business events have been virtually at a standstill since the start of the pandemic. Our overseas markets are vitally important and crucial for a balanced tourism portfolio. Our industry is very keen to return to overseas sales activity and reconnect with buyers. I am convinced that through the market access program, we can support our businesses by giving them better access to these markets and helping them to maximize income from tourism abroad.
She added: “We welcome and encourage applications from the appropriate Northern Ireland tourism businesses as this support will be essential for our wider tourism economy as they continue to recover.”
Tourism Ireland IMAP Director Niamh Kinsella explained: “As we begin to restart overseas tourism, Tourism Ireland is delighted to partner with Tourism Northern Ireland to roll out the Market Access Program. Northern Ireland Industry (NI IMAP). We want to work closely with our tourism partners in Northern Ireland, to help them recover from the effects of the pandemic as quickly as possible and to rebuild their business abroad. Through this joint program, we will help them re-enter the international market to promote their product or experience and Northern Ireland – through a range of B2B promotions targeting leisure, business, golf and leisure travelers. luxury.
“Tourism Ireland has just launched our ‘Green Button’ campaign in major overseas markets, to raise awareness of the destination and generate bookings for short stays and vacations here; thus, there has never been a better time for our Northern Ireland industry partners to be active abroad and help stimulate the return of international visitors to Northern Ireland.
