Haslingden company creates new jobs as part of major expansion plans

An SME technology service provider is planning a major expansion, including the creation of 25 new jobs, after receiving a £300,000 loan from Rosebud.

Haslingden’s Digital Britain, formerly Customer Care Group, will use the loan to fund the recruitment of a specialist sales and marketing team, enabling the company to develop a network of business partners. The company, which has already doubled in size over the past four years, hopes to accelerate its growth in the years to come, in particular by doubling its workforce.

Chief Executive Mark Bedward said: “Over the past few years, we have grown from a group of telecom and technology gurus and business advisors, helping SMEs with different aspects of technology, to a full-service provider of digital and technology services to owner-managed SMBs.

“We have built traction and we have a great base, but not everyone knows us. We want to be the go-to place for any owner-managed SME in the UK for all things tech and digital and Rosebud’s loan will help us do that.

The company is currently exploring a range of financial options to support its growth ambitions, including the launch of a Digital Britain franchise network, and is considering equity financing to fund its future growth. Rosebud is owned by Lancashire County Developments Ltd (LCDL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Lancashire County Council.

It aims to support the growth of Lancashire businesses and the local economy, providing loans between £10,000 and £300,000 as well as high quality business support.

County Councilor Aidy Riggott, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Growth, said: “Digital Britain is a real success story from a growing Lancashire business. Lancashire County Council is proud to be able to provide funding to help the company through its next stage of growth and achieve its ambitions. This support from Rosebud will support new jobs in Lancashire and will also help Digital Britain grow in the UK.

Rosebud is provided by GC Business Finance. Businesses in Lancashire’s 12 local authorities are eligible for funding.
