Stacy Tiner named president of Smithville, TX chamber council

On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff of the Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce, we welcome Stacy Tiner as Chair of the Board in 2022. Tiner is the Branch Manager of First National Bank in Smithville. She served on the chamber board for two years and has been very active as a member of the board, from her service as co-chair of the Smithville Wingfest & Chili Cook-A-Roo to her hard work and her dedication as co-president of the Casino. Night. Tiner took his service and commitment to the chamber council very seriously.

Tiner began her service as chair of the chamber board on January 1 and will continue in this role until December 31. During her tenure as President, we know that she will work hard to serve the chamber and the membership with dedication and devotion. Welcome, Stacy, and thank you for all you do to make Smithville a great place to live, work and play!

The quarterly January Room Breakfast is scheduled for January 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. The theme for our lunch is “A Healthy Smithville,” where we will be kicking off a year of highlights from our many health care providers in Smithville. We will hear from several healthcare providers, including Jake Stinson of Towers Nursing Home, and our keynote speaker will be Jace Jones, Administrator of Ascension Seton Smithville Hospital. “Smithville 78957” Magazine: We have released a wonderful new tourism focused edition of our “Smithville 78957” magazine, which has doubled in size to 48 pages. We have delivered copies throughout town and are preparing packages for delivery to Bastrop, Elgin and La Grange next week, as well as mailing to our members, providing copies to all employees in the school district. and, of course, by making the magazines available to the public in the reception center. Let us know if you would like copies for your business.

The 2022 visitor guide and business directory is in progress. Be sure to contact us about an announcement in this post. This publication has been a mainstay of businesses in Smithville and surrounding areas for decades.

The Bastrop County Health Fest is an event that allows county residents to learn about the types of health services available in the area. It is also an opportunity for health service providers to reach out and let residents know what they have to offer. Whether it’s mental, social, physical, self-help, or some other related category, the Bastrop County Health Fest provides a beneficial place. The free event will take place on January 25, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Smithville Recreation Center.

The Smithville Workforce Training Center is pleased to announce that we have graduated our first class of Certified Practical Nurses. Our graduates all have vacancies with Towers Nursing Home in Smithville or Silver Pines Nursing Home in Bastrop.
