Tourism Australia revises Aussie Specialist program

As Australia moves closer to opening its borders to visitors again, Tourism Australia has updated its Aussie Specialist program with a new look and more features for users.

The Aussie Specialist program, which works in conjunction with tourism organizations in Australian states and territories, offers greater customization, faster qualification times, and shorter, more interactive training modules.

The investment in updating the program comes at the right time, according to Phillipa Harrison, Managing Director of Tourism Australia.

Harrison noted that frontline travel sellers “have looked to the Aussie Specialist program over the past 18 months to learn and position themselves as Australian travel champions once borders reopen.”

Looking ahead, Harrison said, “Australia remains one of the world’s top travel destinations and the Aussie Specialist program helps ensure we are in the best possible position to convert travel demand into bookings. as soon as the borders reopen.

“We now have over 26,000 qualified Australian specialists around the world and hope the new program will allow more agents to complete their apprenticeship so that they too can better sell Australian tourism experiences.”

Along with the launch of the new and improved Specialist Program, Tourism Australia is inviting its Australian Specialists to Australia’s first World Summit, a virtual event to be held on November 16.

All Australian Specialists and Channel Partners are welcome to participate in the event free of charge.

The summit will be a three-hour online event that will feature inspiring speakers, energizing storytelling chapters, informative education sessions and on-demand content. It will be available in nine languages ​​and is jointly promoted by Tourism Australia and the eight state and territory tourism partners.

In addition to the updated Specialty Program, Tourism Australia has launched Australia 365, an ever-active global virtual shopping center that registered buyers can use to connect with over 2,000 suppliers. The new platform gives global channel partners and Australian specialists the ability to share, train, update and connect throughout the year.
